Capacity
Trash: Every household will receive one new trash cart for free.
Maybin's will provide residents with a new 65-gallon trash cart in the coming weeks for free. These deliveries will occur on Fridays, so you won't have a trash day without a bin. Please note, if you’d prefer a 96-gallon wheeled trash cart, you may call the service line (828) 692-9872 to exchange sizes for free. When the time comes to discard your old trash bin, below are some options for you:
- Donate
- Bring them to the Public Works Department at 500 Toms Drive and Maybin’s will collect them
- Use them as compost bins
- Sell them on Facebook Marketplace or similar platform
Recycling: Two securely tied bags of recycling placed outside of and next to the trash cart.
Packaging
All trash must be bagged and tied. Even with carts, trash must be securely bagged and tied, especially recycling bags, to ensure proper handling and reduce spills and injuries. All recycling must be in translucent blue recycling bags, including cardboard.
Cardboard must be broken down, cut, and placed in recycling bags to ensure pickup. We will do our best to pick up improperly packaged trash, but recyclables that cannot be pitched into our recycling cages may be thrown away or left behind. All blue bags must be securely tied and without holes for them to stay safely in the recylcing cage on the side of the trucks.
Location
Curbside: For most, this is the "end of the driveway." For condominiums, apartments, and similar residences without a traditional driveway, the curb is defined as "within 3-8 ft of where we can back our trucks."
Frequency
Once per week – Thursday.
If your residence is MISSED please call Maybin’s customer service line at (828) 692-9872. The hours of opperation are Monday-Thursday 9:00am - 4:00pm and Friday 9:00 - noon. If you call after hours, please leave a voicemail with your address and issue, so Maybin's can take care of it for you!
