All of the Town’s garbage and recyclable are collected on Thursdays. Collection time may vary - garbage must be placed by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

Do Not place the following items in your regular trash:

  • Hazardous materials

  • Paint
  • Ashes
  • Oil or other flammables
  • Tires
  • Motor oil
  • Deceased animals

Please contact the Henderson County Convenience Center for alternative waste disposal.

The Town collects mixed recyclables in blue or clear bags. Blue or clear bags are available for purchase at most grocery and retail “big box” stores in Laurel Park and Hendersonville.

Bulky Items (Junk)

The Town does not provide collection of bulky items. Residents are responsible for disposal of furniture, appliances, etc.

Yard Waste

Loose Yard Waste/Brush

Loose Yard waste is collected twice a year during specific time frames. The specific dates for brush collection will be posted in the quarterly Town newsletter and the Town's home webpage. At all other times it must be disposed of by the resident. It is not acceptable to pile yard waste by the road at any other time of the year.

Bagged Yard Waste Collection

Bagged yard waste is collected year-round, upon request by calling Town Hall or submitting a request by clicking here. Bagged yard waste is collected within three business days. Grass clippings or other loose materials must be bagged (30 pound maximum limit per bag).

Leaf Collection

The Public Works Department uses a vacuum leaf collection process each fall to collect unbagged leaves. Vacuum leaf collection begins in mid-October and ends by mid-Febuary each year.
